Entry: Like the winds they rise and fall Tuesday, May 05, 2009

We don't talk about the weather because we're obsessed with it.
We talk about it because it's so changeable and provides at least five minutes of conversation devoid of the potential for a social faux pas.
No one's parents ever died as a result of a cloudy day.

Man, I live in Colorado. Here, talking about the weather has more to do with the fact that it may change at ANY SECOND! and if you haven't checked in the last 5 minutes you may need to go outside in anything from shorts to a parka.

Grouchy miserable times lately-everyone myself included seems on edge. I joined a book discussion group online-stupidly on a book with religious subject matter. Stating an opinion led to lectures from other readers-so not what I went there for. Will know to avoid all spiritual topics in future. Also a republican friend keeps sending me links bashing Obama. Finally sent him an email saying enough already. Give the man a chance and what sore losers they seem as their eight years have ended. The weather seems safe to me at the moment as well.
